This study aims at Characteristic of waste landfills in Sindaedong. We have investigated on the facilities and conditions of landfills, which were finished landfills(3 places) and present landfills(12 places), include charateristics of leachate generated from landfills, The results are summerized as follows. 1. Present landfills were most of sanitary landfill, but finished landfills were many of open dumping landfill. And present landfills were equipped the elementary treatment facilities and leachate generated from landfills were linked with the sewage treatment plant. On the other side, finished landfills were lack of the elementary treatment facilities and the landfill leachate directly flew to rivers or lakes. So it was estimated that could cause environmental pollution. 2. Landfills were located on the mountainside, land use was most of agrecultural area which were paddy fields and dry fields, and a kind of soil was the most silt.
